Francisco Cabello Santamaría

BIOGRAPHY

MD and clinical psychologist, specialized in Sexology and Psychiatry. Since 1985, he works as a therapist and trainer in sexology at the Andalusian Institute of Sexology and Psychology of Malaga, where he is the Director of the Sexology and Sexual Therapy Master, which has been held since 1996. He received his PhD from the University of Málaga. His doctoral thesis is entitled “Comparative efficacy between sexual and pharmacological therapy in erectile dysfunction”. He is author of 74 national and international scientific publications, as well as several books (“Sexualidad y Discapacidad” (1996), “Guía de la Sexualidad Masculina” (2001), “Manual Médico de Terapia Sexual” (2002), “Disfunción Eréctil: un abordaje integral” (2004), “Principales estudios en Salud Sexual” (2005), “El sexo influye en la salud” (2006), “Apuntes de Sexología” (2006), “Introducción a la Sexología Clínica” (2007) y “Manual de sexología y terapia sexual” (2010), “Eyaculación Precoz. Guía Práctica” (2014) y “Terapia sexual en Andrología” (2018).

Flag of Andalusia Distinction for “Investigación e Innovación Científica” (2018). Prize for the professional career of the Official College of Psychologists of Andalusia (2012). Acésit Prize in research in the VII International Course of Psychiatry and Sexual Health (2017). Prize for the best research in the XII Spanish Congress of Sexology (2015). Member of the Advisory Committee of the following journals: “Hispanoamerican Archives of Sexology”, “Integral Sexology”, “International Journal of Andrology and Sexual Health”, “Psychiatry and Behavior”, and “Psychosomatics and Psychiatry”.

He was the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the 15th European Congress of EFS (European Federation of Sexology). Member of the Scientific Committee of the World Congress of Sexology held in Valencia (1997), Hong Kong (1999), Paris (2001), Havana (2003), Montreal (2005), Sydney (2007), Gotemborg 2009), Miami (2015) and Buenos Aires (2018). He was the President of the International Academy of Medical Sexology (Miami, 2015).
